Course Information:
MyneSight delivers the Standard 11 Induction Program covering the required Standard 11 competencies for Surface coal mining. it covers the core skills and knowledge needed to identify hazards, manage risks, communicate effectively, and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
Our Standard 11 Surface Program is designed for maximum flexibility. Learners complete the theory components online, from anywhere, at a time that suits them, before attending a single face-to-face session to complete the required practical training and assessments.

Course Structure
- Four (4) interactive learning modules
- Associated knowledge checks and quiz questions
- Completion of the summative (final) knowledge assessment
- All required practical skills assessments
- Hands-on demonstration of safe work practices, hazard management, and emergency response procedures
This induction ensures new and existing workers are prepared to operate safely and comply with the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act 1999 and a site’s safety and health management system (SHMS).
NOTE for persons who intend to work at a Queensland mine site
As mine sites will have different requirements for various positions, we recommend that you check first with the site you are intending to work at, or your recruitment company, to see whether this program is right for you.
NOTE: If you are attending a BMA site, please confirm MyneSight’s Statement of Attainment will be recognised by the provider of the BMA Core Induction.
Course Duration
- Self-paced online learning to be completed by the learner within 30 days.
- 1 day of face-to-face practical training and assessment
Entry Requirements
- Must have access to a computer, phone or tablet with internet access
- Possess ACSF Level 2 LLND skills (language, literacy, numeracy, digital)
- Must be physically fit and capable of performing basic manual tasks
- Valid photo ID (e.g., driver’s licence, passport)
What to Wear:
- Closed in shoes (training room only)
What to bring:
- Identification i.e. drivers licence
- USI number
- Lunch / Crib. Tea and coffee making facilities are available and fridges are provided for lunch / crib.

Successful completion
