Course Overview

Our online refresher program is designed to support supervisors in maintaining the competencies required under Queensland coal mining legislation. It assists supervisors to meet ongoing compliance obligations under the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act 1999 and associated Regulations, which require individuals to keep their skills and knowledge current (typically every five years or as determined by site requirements).

This refresher is intended for existing supervisors who already hold the unit:

• RIIRIS402E – Carry out the risk management process

Throughout the program, you will revisit and update your skills in:

• Facilitating and carrying out structured risk management processes
• Identifying hazards and assessing risks using recognised industry methodologies
• Developing, implementing, and reviewing risk control measures

Once you have enrolled into the course you will complete the following process.
 

STEP 1: Entry Requirement

Once granted access to the course you will be required to upload the required evidence listed below.

• Current Statements of Attainment, Formal Qualifications, and Awards listing
  • RIIRIS402
• Training transcript from the most recent mine site you have worked on in the past 2 - 3 years. You may also provide training transcripts from additional sites you have worked on in the last 5 years.
• Work / Life  Experience
  • CV/Resume that shows any work positions held that relate to the units of competency
  • SHMS / Supervisory Appointment Letters
• Letter of support from a current or previous supervisor.
• Possess ACSF Level 4 LLND skills (language, literacy, numeracy, digital)
• One of the following supporting documents
  • Risk assessment they have facilitated, participated in e.g. WRAC
  • Planned task or safety observation
  • SHMS document review they have conducted or signed off/on

You will be required to answer several questions on RIIRIS402 knowledge/Theory
Once the required evidence is uploaded and questions answered a MyneSight trainer will validate your experience. If you are unsure whether you meet these requirements, please contact our team before enrolling so we can discuss your individual circumstances and support options.

STEP 2. EVIDENCE CHECK

Once you have submitted your evidence, our trainers will review it against the competencies for currency. 

STEP 3. EXPERIENCE CONFIRMATION

Once the review is completed, our trainer will contact you for a final competency conversation to confirm your currency.
Once completed and validated we will award your Statement of Attainment.

WHAT DO I GET WHEN I FINISH THE COURSE?
At the successful completion of the MyneSight G2 RPL Program, you will be awarded a statement of attainment covering RIIRIS402E
