- Theory assessment to test the learner's understanding of the course material

- Completing and recording two (2) CO gas readings in different locations according to site requirements (calculate CO Make).
- Identifying spontaneous combustion hazards and risks on candidate’s site.
- Identify and inspect inertisation point at candidate’s site.
- Identifying site trigger levels and alarms relating to Spon Com management.
- Contribute to an audit or review of the site's Spon Com Management Plan or related documents or processes and report on findings.
- Identify, investigate and report changes in ventilation that may affect spontaneous combustion according to site requirements.
- Identify hazards associated with coal accumulations and transport systems and apply action according to spontaneous combustion management plan and site requirements.
