NSW Generic Underground (6 Monthly) Self-Escape Refresher with Live SCSR

Course Information:

The Self-Escape (6 Monthly) Refresher aims to give participants the necessary skills and knowledge to safely and competently refresh their skills under section 103 of the Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Regulation 2022 (NSW).

This course is for learners requiring their 3 yearly refresher with a live SCSR unit as per the regulations.

Entry Requirement:

Before you enrol in this course:

You must have successfully completed Self-Escape training within twelve (12) months prior to booking this course
You must upload a copy of this evidence when enrolling for the course.

What to Wear:

Hi-Viz Shirts, Long Pants / Jeans and Steel Capped Boots
If you have long hair it must be tied back
Fully enclosed footwear

What to bring:

Identification i.e. drivers licence
USI number
Lunch / Crib. Tea and coffee making facilities are available and fridges are provided for lunch / crib.

Learning Outcomes:

Operation of a LIVE self-rescuers in a simulated underground environment
Operation of Compressed air breathing apparatus (CABA) in a simulated underground environment
Simulated underground evacuation of the underground environment
Underground risk awareness

Learning Methods:

Delivery Methods: Face-to-face, workplace-based, or blended delivery
Assessment Types: Practical observation, verbal/written questioning, equipment inspection checklists, risk assessments, and workplace documentation
Assessment Context: Simulated or actual elevated worksite, using industry-standard equipment and PPE
